Beginner Basics: Learn to Sew Course AUG-OCT

Join the sewing revolution and give yourself one of the most valuable skills anyone can have. Once you've got some confidence and know-how, you'll be surprised just how useful the art of sewing, mending and upcycling is in your everyday life.

In this friendly, supportive beginner sewing course, Eliza will use her 25 years of sewing experience to teach you the fundamentals of basic sewing and give you the confidence to continue sewing throughout your life.

Begin your sewing adventures by learning sewing fundaments and build up your skills by practicing in a safe, supportive, fun environment. You'll learn a range of techniques and terminologies perfect for general home sewing and garment making. In this course, you'll have fun making 3-5 projects, including garments, to take home and you'll also take away bags of confidence and a pocket-full of ambition for your next project.

SKILL LEVEL AND ELIGIBILITY:

This course is suitable for adults and children with absolutely no prior experience. Children aged between 10 and 15 years must be accompanied by an adult. If the accompanying adult intends to participate, they must also purchase the course. If the accompanying adult will stay for supervision only, they are not required to purchase the course. Children under 10 years old are not eligible.

WHAT TO BRING:

• a positive attitude to sewing.
• the sewing machine that you would like to learn with (optional).
• other tools that you would like to practice with (optional).
  
• hard or soft drinks of your choice (if preferred over beverages provided).
  • alcohol may only be brought and consumed by those over 18 years of age.
    

WHAT IS PROVIDED:

• tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sweet treats.
  
• sewing machines (per your booking).
• sewing tools.
• fabrics and all notions required for the projects.
• sewing expertise and a creative environment.

DETAILS:

This course runs for a total of 30 hours over 12 sessions on a Tuesday morning. Feel free to book two spots and bring along a friend, your partner or capable kiddo to learn together. Please ensure that you are available for all sessions as the tickets are non-transferrable nor refundable.
