School Holiday Workshops: Whimsify Your Wardrobe (High School Kids Edition)

Do you have a creative kiddo in your life who would love to sew fun things? My school holiday workshops series is beginner friendly, creative and fun for primary and high school-aged kids.

Whimsify Your Wardrobe (High School Kids):

Tuesday 7 July 2026, 1:00 am - 4:00 pm.

These workshops are held in the brand new Curious Lane Studio:

Level 1, Unit 2, 22 Durgadin Drive, Albion Park Rail

The first floor studio is accessible by stairs only. Onsite and street parking available.

WHAT IS IT:

Everyone needs a little whimsy in their life and kids, in particular, need a sense joy and pride in things that they’ve made. Let’s level this up by adding whimsy to your teen’s wardrobe. I remember back to being a teen and there wasn’t much better than being able to wear something totally unique that I had made.

For this workshop, your teen is required to bring an item of clothing or an accessory like a bag that they would like to change and add to to make it totally unique and whimsical. Perhaps they have a a pair of jeans they’d like to add some patches or other decorations to, or maybe they want to jazz up a boring tote bag. The creativity is endless with this one but it does rely on your child bringing the main item of clothing/accessory to work on (think up-cycling). They are more than welcome to bring along any other bits and pieces they’d like to incorporate and, together using supplies and tools provided, I’ll help them bring their whimsical vision to life!

SKILL LEVEL:

• This workshop is beginner friendly. It would be advantageous if your child has used a sewing machine at least once before. However, if your child doesn't have machine experience but has a penchant for creativity and/or sewing, I will support them through learning the basics to complete their project.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:

• Fundamentals of safely using a sewing machine and other required tools.
• Various machine and hand sewing techniques required per project.
• Various crafting techniques required per project.

WHAT IS PROVIDED:

• A range of materials/supplies and tools to be utilised in the workshop.
• Sewing machines and related tools required to complete the project.

Note re materials provided: a mixture of vintage, reclaimed and new items.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Water bottle and a snack.
• Main item of clothing or accessory (or two) to be up-cycled.
• Any additional bits and pieces to be used for the projects.

WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH:

• A unique and whimsically piece.
• A smile on your face.

FORMALITIES:

If your child is required to take medication during the session times, you are required to attend to administer this. I do not take responsibility for administering any medications.

A basic first aid kit will be available at all sessions to treat minor injuries.
